OMEGA Watches's History

In 1900, Paris World Fair, Under Eiffel Tower, at the new turn of the century, OMEGA series, with its excellent performance, won the top honors issued by the international jury; while Greek Temple Gold Carved Watch with fame spreading far and wide is one of them.

 

At that time, OMEGA's annual output was two hundred thousand, and it had one thousand employees and came first on the list in Swiss watch manufacturers.

 

In 1848, the year when the Swiss Federation was born, Louis Brandt andLa Chaux-de-Fonds open watch assembly factory.

 

In 1880, Louis Brandt's son Louis-Paul and Csar selected Bienne region as factory building location where there are sufficient manpower, abundant resources and convenient transportation. After having selected factory location, the factory took the lead to abandon assembly system and use mechanized production method, produce unified standard parts and introduce the new division of labor system for assembly work, make precise, excellent in quality and reasonable in price watches.

 

OMEGA 19 watch movement which was known to the entire world was launched in 1894, and it not only quickly became the symbol of excellence, but also made the company named "OMEGA".

 

Since this moment, OMEGA, with its advanced watch making technology, become the pioneer in watch making industry for one hundred and fifty years.
