Brief introduction about Movado watches

In 1881, a 19 year old young watch craftsman named Achille Diresheim, in Switzerland Lachaux-de bought a small factory; he and partners started producing their own watch movement, mainly supplying for female watches. This soon brought him a good reputation in the region. There are 30 local workers, and at that time a international language called "Esperanto" is in development. In this language "Movado" means "perpetually work without stop". In 1905 it was selected as his company and brand name by Achille diresheim. At the same year, in Liege exhibition Movado won gold award and began to cut a striking figure. Leopold and Isidore two brothers also joined in the company, which added a new force for company. At this time it has begun to use the best tools and machinery to produce watches.

 

Movado name since 1881 was proved as a company having a prophetic vision, committing to design innovation and time technology. Movado name marks some of the most innovative watches; in the first one hundred years company obtained one hundred patents, and received more than 200 international outstanding innovation award. During the First World War, Movado created a watch called the sergeant watch. The most prominent place of this watch is the design of protection cover. The postwar world was more conducive to develop, in 1924 Movado Watch Company was set up. At this time, company developed a staggering pocket watch called "Emeto" .The Ermeto is oblong, and it is provided with a protective cover that can be opened and closed, and the sliding lid can wind for watch.
