In LeCoultre family a boy was born in 1803-Antoine, in the beginning he was an apprentice at his father's blacksmith shop, while he also seriously studied gear manufacturing technology and metallurgy. In 1833, he founded manual workshop in Le Sentier tow and left the family business. By 1860, his company already had more than 100 people, specializing in the production of watches precision device, successively launching hundreds of clocks and watches’ movement, which established themselves’ status in the Swiss watch industry. In 1903, at the age of Antoine100 years old (of course, he did not live up to that time, but he did receive this gift), his grandson Jacob - David and French maker of precision navigation time device Edmon Jaeger cooperated and established today's Jaeger LeCoultre.
