Development process of Carl F.Bucherer

In 1888, Carl F.Bucherer and his wife in Luise Lucerne Falkenplatz opened the first watches and jewelry store. They are successful couples: his entrepreneurship, artist talent and the keen awareness on the prevalence trend and social trend, his wife’s realistic spirit and management ability, they are perfect complementary couple. Their success laid a solid foundation for the Bucherer group that today is known for us.

 

In 1910, Carl F.Bucherer's two sons comprehended father’s dream. Brother Carl Eduard in London was trained as a goldsmith, and younger brother Ernst in St.Imier become a professional watchmaker. They inherited their parents’ broad sense, and lead the company to a new peak of enterprise. Strictly following father's words, they set up distribution points throughout the whole of Switzerland. In 1919, Carl and Ernst Buchere formally established their own watchmaking factory and brand and realize its vision for the business.

 

Between 1915 and 1923, Bucherer watches and jewelry fame quickly spread throughout high society of German. It represents noble status of Royal watchmaking master.

 

In 1967, Bucherer Group purchased a watch factory of Credos which is located in the Swiss watchmaking area center Nidau, and changed its name into Bucherer Montres S.A. At the same time, Bucherer along with the other 9 watchmakers invested jointly and produced Switzerland’s first quartz movement -- Beta21.Between 1968 and 1976, Bucherer group took one of the leaders in the watch industry, and in the Switzerland official C.O.S.C. Observatory certification number ranked among top three in whole world. During this period, Bucherer Group every year produced nearly 15000 watches having only C.O.S.C. Observatory certification.
